I had picked up "Unaccustomed Earth" by Jhumpa Lahiri a couple of weeks back. It is a collection of eight short stories, of lifes transitioning between America and India. She has the ability to write on delicate nuances of relationships, and portray characters so well that one can often see a sharp resemblance. I am amazed by her compelling plots, one of those writers who can write about mundane things in life, which one would normally not think disregard as background noise, only to reconnect and reminisce them after reading her short stories.
I finished reading " Hell-Heaven", "Once in a lifetime " (this is great!), "Unaccustomed Earth" and came across things that we normally ignore in our lives nevertheless all of which is a stark reality in everyone's lives.
To Lahiri's writing.
